Should We Require `Fire-Safe' Smokes?
For almost a century, public debate about fire safety and cigarettes has included discussions about making "fire-safe" cigarettes, which use special banded papers that are self-extinguishing unless a smoker puffs on them. For decades, attempts to pass federal and state laws mandating the sale of fire-safe cigarettes failed, despite claims that unattended cigarettes spark fires that kill an average of 700 to 900 people nationwide each year.

Dallas

The Dallas brand cigarette is manufactured by the Rothman International Company, which is part of the British American Tobacco Company. Although one may assume the name stands for the popular city of Dallas Texas in the United States, the company manufactures most of there Dallas cigarettes in Russia. This cigarette is extremely popular in that area and also in Finland, where the company exports them. People are very fond of this brand of cigarette because it offers good quality and a very low price. Before the new laws that banned cigarette advertising in public, the Dallas brand was advertised on posters in many public transportation areas. This marketing technique proved to be very inexpensive and gave the Dallas cigarette plenty of awareness. The Rothman Company promises it’s buyers that the cigarettes are made from carefully selected tobacco blends and are of high quality. The cigarettes are produced in only two different varieties, Dallas Classic and Dallas Lights. The Classic are known for a very strong flavor and it can even be described as severe. Only long time smokers seem to have a preference the Classics. The Lights are, of course, much milder and people find them easier to smoke.
